November Top Droppers

on Wednesday, December 03, 2008

I would like to take a moment and thank my top Entrecard droppers for the month of November. If you are a fellow card dropper on Entrecard, please stop by these great sites and show them some love. If you're not on Entrecard yet, hop on over and check out what all the buzz is about!

Either this week or beginning of next week, I would love to put together a blogroll of all of the Canadian bloggers that are on Entrecard. My reasoning for doing so is since at this point in time it is not possible to search blogs on Entrecard by geographic location. So I figured why not start up a blogroll/list of Canadian Blogs/Bloggers. If you are one, please feel free to comment and let's get the ball going!

Hi Ann thank you for the mention. I see you have reverted to a classic template, actually it works better in my browser. Was there a problem with the other design?

Ann the last comment was mine I pressed the wrong key. Sorry!

Quite a few removed annoyances (comments), I see!

I'm really liking the new site layout you have here. =) it's simple, easy to read, and yet still classy.

I'm thinking of getting a service like entrecard, how well do you like it? Do you know of any other services that work well?

I still read your blog, I very much like it, keep it up!

HRM, you are more than welcome! Expect that on a monthly basis. As long as I continue to use Entrecard,I will post monthly my top droppers and give you some link love.

Mike, not a problem sir!

In regards to my reasoning for changing the template, the old one went "wacky" on me. Milo, did you remove the photo from photobucket? I know this template is more "common" and not as "cool" as my previous template, but is still easy on the eyes.

Milo, I personally like Entrecard. It has brought a lot of visitors and readers to my blog that I otherwise might not have had. is also ok, but that site will just bring traffic to your site, not a real guarantee for actual readers.

Thanks for the mention. I haven't seen too many Canadian bloggers (we tend to be a shy lot!), but I'm from Ottawa, Canada.

The image is (still) hosted on my private Dropbox account, so I'm not convinced that it was a problem there. What do you mean by "wacky"?

I actually like this template better. The old one made me feel like I was about to read a science-fiction blog! This new one is clean, elegant yet simple, warm and inviting. I think you could add a header image here, but it's questionable whether it would add to the pleasant feel. I suppose it would have to be a carefully chosen image in any case.

I'm giving Entrecard a test drive, and I just approved 3 ads. I'm not sure what that means, but hey! I'm learning.

Milo, there were "error" messages saying something to the effect that the image was no longer on photobucket, but not the main header photo but on various parts of the page. The page ended up looking like a disorganized mess. So instead of tinkering with it and risking more damage, just decided to change completely the template.

In regards to Entrecard, there is an "ebook" that you can download from the website that is pretty straight to the point. The ads you've approved, one will show for 24 hours and you earn credits. You also earn credits for "dropping" cards on other peoples blogs and earn when people "drop" their card on your blog. You then spend your credits to advertise on other peoples blogs. Suggestion, for your "icon", why not choose a cool photo that relates to the theme of your blog. People are more apt to click on a cool icon. I just sent you an email with an example icon you could use, already the "perfect" size.

Robin, thanks for the "insight". :) What do you think of the idea of starting something like a "blogroll" of Canadian bloggers that are on Entrecard? I've seen Christian Carders, Ecocarders, so why not Canadian Carders? IF there are any other Canadians reading this that also use Entrecard, what's your opinion?
